Abirapro is one of the antineoplastic agents that involved in the reduction of androgen production in the body.
Androgens, it is a male hormone which is responsible for tumor cells formation in prostate glands
Pharmacology of Abirapro
Mechanism of action:
Tablet Abirapro is an anti androgen medication, which leads to eradicate the enzyme 17α-hydroxylase C 17, 20-lyase (CYP17), it is involved in androgen synthesis.
Reduce the serum testosterone level.

The median plasma concentration of tablet Abirapro takes 12 hours.

Tablet Abirapro is highly bound to the plasma protein like albumin and alpha-1 acid glycoprotein.
Metabolism of Abirapro tablets
The two main metabolites of Abiraterone in human plasma are Abiraterone sulphate and N-oxide Abiraterone sulphate.

The mean terminal half life of tablet Abirapro is 12 ± 5 hours. It is mainly excreted in 88% faeces and 5% in urine.

Abirapro tablet is used in male patient for the treatment of Metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer.
Dose & Dosage's of Abirapro
The recommended dose of the tablet Abirapro is 1000mg/day
Tablet Abirapro is taken as 4 tablet as a single dose.
Abirapro should be combined with prednisolone as twice daily to reduce the risk of side effects.
Abirapro tablet administered with whole water, do not crush and open the capsules.
Side Effects of Abirapro
Swelling of feet, pain in legs, burning sensation while urination, hypertension, severe headache, blurred vision, pounding in neck or ear, nose bleed, anxiety, chest pain, difficulty breathing, hyperglycemia, increased thirst, urination, hunger, dry mouth, fruity odor, dry skin, weight loss, liver problems, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, urinary tract infection, decreased potassium levels
Common side effects may include:

* Feeling very hot
* Joint pain or swelling
* Bruising; or cough,
