Pharmacology of Hepcinat Plus
Sofosbuvir expose to have a high barrier to the development of resistance and prevents the hepatitis C NS5B protein
Sofosbuvir interfere with the RNA polymerase enzyme by the integral worker which will implement the replication process, Hence it blocks the reproduction of Hepatitis C virus and reduces the amount of Hepatitis C virus in liver and thereby Sofovir also acts to lessen liver damage and reform liver function.
Daclatasvir is a direct acting antiviral drug which is used for the prevent hepatitis c virus infection.
Daclatasvir will focus the Hepatitis C virus and stops the numerous steps in replication process of HCV by the way it inhibits the virus particles from making duplicate of themselves, and helps the body to remove virus from the blood.
Indication of Hepcinat Plus
Hepcinat plus is a combination of two antiviral drugs and manufactured by Natco.
Hepcinat plus is a fixed dose drug which is used along with or without ribavirin to treat the patients suffering from chronic hepatitis C virus genotype 1 or 3 infection.
Mechanism of action:
Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide correlated of the blockage of hepatitis C virus NS5B polymerase. The enzyme that interfere with the proliferation of HCV RNA. Sofosbuvir (GS-461203) which form triphosphate act as the natural cellular uridine nucleotide and is fused by HCV RNA polymerase into the expansion of the RNA primer strand, which causes the completion of the viral chain.
Hepcinat plus which contains of Daclatasvir 60mg is a antiviral medication in which they also interfere with nonstructural protein 5A (NS5A), a most functional protein which is an precise component of the Hepatitis C Virus reproduction complex. Daclatasvir block both viral RNA replication and virion complex.
Dose & Dosage's of Hepcinat Plus
Usual adult dose for patients with chronic hepatitis C virus has one tablet consist of Sofosbuvir 400mg and Daclatasvir 60mg.
Administered with or without food once daily taken orally.

Genotype 1: With compensated cirrhosis or without cirrhosis needed 12 weeks therapy
Hepcinat plus and ribavirin combination is used for decompensated cirrhosis and posttransplant for 12 weeks.
Genotype 3: without cirrhosis needed for 12 weeks therapy. By ribavirin combination used for compensated or decompensated cirrhosis and posttransplant for 12 weeks.
OVERDOSAGE: If overdose occur,. Seek medical emergency or call poison control for immediate treatment, since there is no unique antidote available for Hepcinat plus.

Contraindication of Hepcinat Plus
When Hepcinat plus combine with ribavirin is contraindicated in pregnant women and avoid the drug during pregnancy.
Patient is contraindicated by having affected by hypersensitivity and renal hepatic impairment.
Drug Interaction of Hepcinat Plus
When Hepcinat pus co administer with strong inhibitors of CYP3A4 that prevent P-gp activity and cause exposure of Hepcinat plus in limited effect
When Hepcinat pus co administer with strong inducers of CYP3A4 that lower exposure of Hepcinat plus and loss of efficacy.
Precaution of Hepcinat Plus
- Hepcinat plus is a prescription drug, without prescription from doctor should not be issued.
- Combination of amiodarone may cause abnormally slow heart action.
- If you are allergic to daclatasvir , Sofosbuvir or have any other allergies before using the medicine. Both drug may consist of inactive ingredients, that can be cause allergic problems or other reaction. Discuss with your pharmacist for more details.
- If you have any renal disease, liver disease other than hepatitis C, tell to your consultant about past medical history before taking the daclatasvir / Sofosbuvir drug.
Usage & Safety profile of Hepcinat Plus Pregnancy & Lactation
Hepcinat plus belongs to category B has no sufficient and well developed studies in pregnant women and in animal reproduction studies also show no risk and adverse effects to the fetus.
But when combination with ribavirin during pregnancy cause birth defect and even death to fetus. Hence avoid these combination during pregnancy.
Lactation: Excretion into human milk is unknown and not recommended to mother to breast feed their infants during Hepcinat plus combination with ribavirin.
Storage of Hepcinat Plus
- Store below 300C and Shelf life is 24 months
- Keep it in cool, dry place and refrigeration is necessary,

- While travelling in car don’t keep it in glove box, drug can get too hot, cold or wet in box.
